Jacqui Woodhouse, Franchise Partner in Cheshire, completed her first 18 months recently, so we thought it was a good time to ask her to sum up her experience with ourHRpeople:
Please tell me about your role with ourHRpeople?
I am a Director running my own HR Consultancy and Executive Coaching business based out of Cheshire.
What make you consider investing in a franchise business?
I wanted to work for myself but not by myself, making sure I had back up for me and my clients.
How do you feel 18 months on running your own business?
Confident and established.
What has been your best achievement in the past year?
Navigating unexpected family illnesses while still working with several organisations and organisations to help them handle complex change successfully, receiving unsolicited referrals and being featured in the CIPD People Management magazine in the context of my executive coaching work.
Is the business model like you expected? Are you earning what you expected?
Yes. I wanted a setup which allowed me to do things my way, which this model does. Yes, I have met my earning targets.
What difference are you making to people in your local community?
Helping local business owners manage people issues with confidence. I have also put some local suppliers in touch with my clients.
Please tell me how beneficial you feel the support is within the franchise network?
My clients have benefitted in terms of the quality of my advice because I have had the back up to sense check my approach on complex issues.
What have you learnt most in the past 18 months?
As the first franchisee in the North of England, I decided to start to build a trusted network of local partners and suppliers which has taken time, but it really can help add value to a client.
What goals do you want to achieve in the next 18 months?
I plan to maintain and expand my client base, collaborate with other consultants to deliver larger projects and manage my time to be there for family and friends when they need me.
What are your interests/hobbies?
I love walking and being in nature, spending time with my dog, laughing with family and friends – and I have been known to partake in cold water swimming.
Thank you Jacqui – it’s a privilege to support your business.
