ourHRpeople, the professional, partnership based HR franchise company, is run by Steve and Alix, both highly experienced professional services consultants, who each built up their own successful, longstanding and very profitable HR businesses. Together they created ourHRpeople to enable others to do as they have done, but much faster.

Stephen Wright, Managing Director, ourHRpeople

Stephen WrightAfter a successful career in the retail, security and professional service sectors, Steve founded ‘The Training & HR Consultancy Ltd’ in 1999. Working with established associates, the business has prospered, consistently providing Steve with an income in the top 5% and an enjoyable work/life balance.

Steve holds an MSc in Human Resource Management, an LLM in Law and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD (and a member for over 20 years). He is a longstanding member of NXD Solutions, a provider of non-executives to the SME business world.

Steve and his company have worked with leading organisations including: KPMG, Pfizer, the Civil Service, EDF energy, ENI petrochemicals, Lindt Chocolate, Navitas Life Sciences, Linde forklifts, City of London Corporation, Kuwait Bank. They have also supported a wide variety of clients such as education, charities, manufacturing, retail, construction, letting agencies, hotel groups and telecoms providers. 

He also advises, via Crown Agents (the UKs largest overseas development charity), a wide variety of overseas public sector organisations that are facing significant challenges. Recent work has included assisting in the development of a talent management and succession planning strategy for Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, a five-year business plan for Uganda Airports, an organisational design and development plan for Kenya Highways and an IT strategy implementation plan for the Kosovo National Health Service.

Outside work, greyhound and whippet owning, family-man Steve is a keen vintage car owner, mechanic, photographer, and occasional steampunk.

Alix Passey Brown, Partnership Director, ourHRpeople

Alix Passey BrownAn HR Director and professional management consultant, Alix is Managing Director of Twyford HR, a successful and well-recognised HR business serving over 180 clients in the SME, small corporate and third sectors. Trained by world leaders PwC, Alix is noted to have exceptional employment relations skills and has served for 15 years as an Employment Tribunals Member. Her commercial achievements include the development of the pioneering ‘HR on demand’ business model which leveraged Twyford HR into the market in 2012.

Alix is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, holder of an MSc in Human Resource Management and Employment law.  She has significant experience of commercially focussed HR, and a track record of success in major brands such as Saga, Gullane Entertainment Plc, Office Depot, Guinness World Records, BP Chemicals and Inmarsat.  Her third sector leadership and consulting roles include CFAB, Action for Blind People and MIND.

With both UK and international HR experience, Alix’s skills stretch across the entire HR spectrum:  from redesigning HR functions, providing strategic HR direction and spearheading business transformation projects, to delivering a plethora of intricate and demanding employment related interventions, including embedding cultural change into the entirety of organizations’ people strategy and operations.

Her deep specialism is employment relations, with extensive experience of delivering solutions to vexing ER issues, effecting technically complex dismissals, negotiating changes in terms and conditions, resolving grievances and managing sensitive and high-risk disciplinary matters.

She has successfully coached a number of CEOs including that of a national financial regulatory body, supporting the disciplinary process necessary to address allegations of expenses fraud against one of the body’s Directors.

One of Alix’s degrees is in Egyptian Archaeology and when she’s not working, Alix can be found indulging her passion for ancient Egypt and British pre-history.  A life-long German Shepherd owner, she is a volunteer emergency driver for UK German Shepherd Rescue.

Jackie Hudson, Partner, Our HR People (Hampshire East)

Jackie Hudson ourhrpeople franchisee After a successful career in global pharmaceuticals, at a major London-based US law firm and lately as HR Director with Liberty Living, a leading provider of student accommodation in the UK, Jackie has joined Our HR People to run our Hampshire East region.

Jackie is a versatile and results driven HR Director with over 20 years of Human Resources Management experience. She holds a Master’s degree (with distinction) in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.  Whilst Jackie has extensive experience across all aspects of HR Management, HR Development and Organisational Development, her specialism and passion lies in driving sustained and effective employee commitment through periods of significant change. 

She has significant merger and aquisition experience in a highly commercial environment. A strong and effective leader, she is able to design and align HR strategy to enable Leadership Teams to deliver on the wider business strategy. Jackie is also an established assessor/coach working with other senior HR specialists wishing to gain their professional HR qualifications.

She continues to take accountability for her own on-going professional development through continued study at post-graduate level, recently achieving a Level 7 diploma in Leadership and Management and Fellowship of the ILM (FInstLM).  This qualification also gained her Fellowship of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Jackie is still studying and is currently working towards  professional certification in executive business mentoring with the Association of Business Mentors (ABM).

Natalie Curant, Marketing Director

Natalie CurantNatalie has a BA (hons) in English Literature and an MA in Journalism. She cut her teeth as a local reporter in North London, and then worked for several national newspapers and magazines including METRO, The Guardian, The Sunday Mirror, Square Meal and The Independent.

She then moved into corporate communications, heading up PR and marketing for global business travel company CWT. Natalie started up a Digital PR department for SEO company iThinkMedia in 2017, representing clients including Renault, Simply Be and Intercake.

Natalie loves business and has a ‘nose for news’. This makes her a natural PR person. Her achievements include getting a CEO interviewed on BBC Breakfast, winning Best Travel Management Company three years running and sending Santa around the UK in the first ever electric sleigh to publicise the electric Renault Zoe.

In her spare time Natalie is mum to two-year-old Oscar. She is currently editing her first book and writes regularly for national publications and websites.

Matthew Edge-Wilkins, Head of Recruitment

With over 15 years’ recruitment and headhunting experience at all levels and across multiple industries, Matthew heads up the recruitment for ourHRpeople.

Matthew’s recruitment journey began in 2003, when a chance meeting in Sydney Australia would change his career path forever!

“You would be fantastic at recruitment” said a lady he met and within two weeks of this conversation, he was working with her at the same Recruitment Consultancy in central Sydney.

After returning to the UK, Matthew spent the next 10 years in a variety of in-house recruitment roles – headhunting up to Director level and leading high-performing recruitment teams.

In 2013, Matthew was Runner-up in the Best Inhouse Recruitment Manager category at the National Inhouse Recruitment Awards and in 2014 he was shortlisted for the James Caan Recruitment Entrepreneur Programme.

Matthew has a passion for supporting start-ups and scale-up businesses, leveraging social recruiting and using advanced online search techniques to reach the very best untapped talent for his clients.

Matthew achieved Fellowship status with the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) and in 2015 he launched his own recruitment and headhunting business – Talent Seeker

Talent Seeker’s ethos is to combine the personable, highly engaged and ‘human’ approach of an experienced Inhouse Head of Talent, with the headhunting expertise of a high-end Executive Search firm.

Outside of work, Matthew is a dedicated family man, a lover of movies, music, warm sunny weather, the outdoors, most sports and is a passionate fan of West Ham United.
